I am having issues Copying/Dragging files from host to Ubuntu Box. I am running Windows 7 on my Host. I have installed guest addons on the host and guest box, enabled clipboard, drag and drop and set them both to bidirectional but still no luck.. I have tried to get it work for the past 3 days its really frustrating. How can i get this to work?

Let's get some terminology correct: the VM is called a VM or "the guest" (though technically "guest" refers to the OS inside the VM). The VM is never called a box.
Next, you don't install Guest Additions on the both host and the guest. As the name implies these go in the guest only, the purpose being to add extra functionality to the guest OS. Last time I checked they will not install on your host.
Next, "Drag and Drop" and "Copy/Paste" are two entirely different mechanism, please don't conflate the two.
It is not possible to Copy/Paste files. The only thing you can copy and paste is text and graphics (and note the distinction between text, graphics and files - regardless of what the file contains).
Drag and drop was only implemented in VirtualBox v5, but you neglect to mention what version of VBox and the GAs you have installed. To that end please provide a VM log file: With the VM fully shut down, right click it in GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Am i right to assume Drag & Drop works by clicking a file from the host machine (eg. from explorer) and dragging it to say the home directory or desktop of guest?

Yes. As a test, see if disabling 3D acceleration for your Ubuntu guest fixes Drag n Drop.
