Win 7 Ent Host PXE Boot Issue
Posted: 17. Dec 2015, 22:03
Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Host
Windows 7 Enterprise x64 Guest 5GB Memory 100GB VDI
The Extension Pack has been installed.
Unable to PXE boot when running the VM. Can PXE boot the host. Bridged network connection. All DHCP options are set properly for the host to boot properly. I know of no additional options that would need to be set for a guest.
I can see DHCP information distributed to the guest. I can see it pointed to the proper boot strap file location in the Vbox.log file. However it hangs at the TFTP pull, and gives me a PXE-T00 timeout error, PXE-E36 Error received from TFTP server, & PXE-M0F before the guest FATAL.
Typically the PXE-T00 and PXE-E36 would indicate improper DHCP option sets, but again I’m sure they are correct, else the host PXE boot would not work. They are distributed via IP helpers in Infoblox though, so not sure if that makes a difference.
Any thoughts from anyone?
