When I first tried to install 5.0.10, I received a BSoD with a "REFERENCE_BY_POINTER" stop code.
I assumed that it was just a flash in the pan happenstance and rebooted my computer, and tried reinstalling 5.0.10.
However, after about a minute and a half of copying files, it reverts the installation process, saying the installation ended prematurely due to a fatal error.
Windows Event Viewer gives the generic error code 1603, and all my searches have turned up nothing conclusive.
I have no idea what's going on, or what's gone wrong. I'm somewhat convinced it has something to do with leftover temporary files from the previous installation, although that's inconclusive.
New member, can't yet post the MSI log, but help would be greatly appreciated.
