I get an error report when I try to use a program.

I installed a program onto my virtual machine after converting all of the CD's folders into an ISO file, and once I have it installed the only thing it does is bring up an error report claiming that it encountered a problem and needs to close.

No matter what I've done it won't fix, I've tried installing it into another folder path, I tried running it as Administrator, etc.

I have SP3 installed for those curious, and it still hasn't helped, though it has improved my browsing experience exponentially.

Any help would be appreciated.

Any hard evidence to indicate that this has anything to do with VirtualBox ? Have you tried to install the program to a physical machine from that iso?

Yes, I actually have it installed on my host computer so I could see how it works. It's a WXP program so it didn't function very well and it installed perfectly from the ISO. So does this mean Virtualbox just can't run the program?

How exactly did you do that? If full detail if you don't mind...

Did you install the program from the CDs or from the ISO that you created? They're not the one and the same.

<sarcasm> I personally have several programs running, including Calculator and Notepad. I can't understand why yours doesn't. :( </sarcasm>

Seriously, if you want help, you got to provide details. "I have a program" means absolutely nothing. We need the details. Full details. To the last bit.

Okay, now I see,

Yes, I installed the program from the CD and then I uninstalled it and reinstalled it from the ISO and they functioned perfectly (enough) on the host computer but refused to work on VirtualBox.

I moved the files to an ISO image by installing a virtual drive program (Virtual CloneDrive to be exact) and right clicking it, it would then give me an option to "Create ISO Image" and I clicked that, after waiting for a while it would create an ISO file containing all of the folders and data. So it wasn't necessarily conversion like I mentioned earlier, my apologies.

I've already looked everywhere and I can't find anything else on this issue.

Is there anything else you need to know?

I'm confused. Virtual CloneDrive does not create .iso files as far as I know. It's a virtual CD/DVD drive that can open .iso and other optical disk files.

Actually from their website:
Image files generated with CloneDVD or CloneCD can be mounted onto a virtual drive from your hard-disk or from a network drive and used in the same manner as inserting them into a normal CD/DVD drive.
... which is what I believe got PirateTetraTheGuy confused.

Yes, plenty. First of all I'm not quite sure about the structure of your ISO where you "combined" all the CDs (still don't know how many). You could have made an ISO for each and every CD. Then do the install by "virtually" swapping the "CDs" when asked to. That might work. No guarantees.

The second thing that you need to do is to read all of the replies. For example, you missed that part:

Yes, i was on their site to check what the program did. :D

Because of that, my feeling was/is, how reliable is any info the user gives?

Just to add, there is no way to know if Virtual CloneDrive works correctly inside a VM.
