Stripping down Windows10 VM to bare

I need to run a Windows10 VM (inside OSX) as I am using a Tobii EyeX eyetracker, which only has drivers for Windows.

Seeing as this is going to be the only thing running in my VM, I would like to eliminate any unnecessary memory consumption and CPU activity.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question (maybe there is nothing VirtualBox specific about this enquiry, and it is a plain Windows question), but I ask just in case.

If the only process running in the vm is the eyetracker, what is the point of running it at all? How do you plan to use the output from it?

I will need to write a (maybe) Python script to bridge the data back to host. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=75128

Your instinct that this has little to do with VirtualBox is correct. You can change the RAM allocation to a guest in the VM settings. Whether the guest can run in that amount of RAM is up to the guest OS.

I gather from this post and the user's other post that the objective is to utilize the Tobil eyetracker, which is basically a game controller, running in a Windows guest, which then somehow will pass information back to a Steam game running on the OSX host so the game can use that information. I can easily think of reasons why this won't work.

You would have a better chance running a physical Windows machine and doing the same thing. Even then I doubt it would work.

Good Luck though.

Actually I will be developing my own software; I just need the raw XY gaze data.
