Hello,

I am quite a novice and freaking out over the loss of my virtual machine after using cc cleaner due to a space issue. I would appreciate any help in somehow getting my old virtual machine back. I do not have any backups or snapshots either.

I turned on my computer and opened virtualbox to be greeted by this

"Welcome to VirtualBox!
The left part of this window is a list of all virtual machines on your computer. The list is empty now because you haven't created any virtual machines yet.
In order to create a new virtual machine, press the New button in the main tool bar located at the top of the window.
You can press the F1 key to get instant help, or visit ... for the latest information and news."

Does CCC leave a log of what has actually done to your system? It should, in theory. Look in their documentation and see if you can dig up something. If so, post the CCC.log (or similar) here. ZIPPED.

This sounds like the VBox configuration is gone. Look in your user folder and see if there is a hidden folder name ".VirtualBox" and if so, list its contents. That's where the VirtualBox keeps its configuration, in the file called "VirtualBox.xml", or a file called "VirtualBox.xml-prev", post them here. ZIPPED.

Your VM should be in "C:\Users\<YOU>\VirtualBox VMs\<YOUR_VM>". Look in there and list its contents. If there is a file called "<YOUR_VM>.vbox", or a file called "<YOUR_VM>.vbox-prev".

For more detailed information, look at Ch. 10.1 Where VirtualBox stores its files.

Take these diagnostic steps first and then we'll see how we're going to proceed.
