one of raid disks is not visible to operating system

Post by dollhead »

Hello, everyone! I have a Ubuntu 12.04 virtual machine with 19 disks. 6 of them are 2GB disks which are using as RAID5 components: 3 disks with ext3 partitioning for the first array and 3 disks with xfs for the second array. All disks are attached to SCSi controller according to VirtualBox Manager. But on machine start message about degraded RAID5 array is displayed. And after starting with degraded RAID one of 2GB disks is absent in Disk Utility. Can anyone figure out, why that's happening? I would appreciate any helpful information or instructions how to gather more information.
