So I've ran a Windows XP virtual machine for a while, trying to get everything up and running and things ran fairly smoothly until I attempted to install an Anti-Virus.
Just about anything on Internet Explorer either won't open or looks like a jumbled mess. Is this just something I have to deal with since it's Windows XP attempting to run more modern websites? If not how would I fix this?
Also how would I download things from the host computer to the guest computer? I'm trying to install SP3 but when I inserted the image I clicked "install Windows XP" thinking it would update it but it didn't really change anything. I'm also having trouble loading up disks that I've inserted in the host computer. Can someone help me out?
Can't access ANYTHING on Internet Explorer via WXP VM.

One question per topic please. You do need to update XP to SP3 in order for IE to load most sites.
1. Make sure the extension pack is installed.
2. Install the guest additions in your XP guest.
3. Set up a shared folder so you can copy files between host and guest.

Also make sure you use a modern browser. The version of IE that shipped with XP (IE6) can't cope with modern websites. Install Firefox or Pale Moon.

Okay thank you, how would I install it though? I tried to install it but all it did was restart XP to it's default settings when I ran it from a shared file.loukingjr wrote:One question per topic please. You do need to update XP to SP3 in order for IE to load most sites.

Installation of the Guest Additions is described in the user manual.

When you mean Guest Additions do you mean the service packs or do you mean the disk that allows you to use Seamless Mode when you open the View menu?
