5.0.10 vs 4.3.34 and 64 bit

Post by edwardsmarkf »

hello -

i am trying to determine why v4.3.34 lets me run 64 bit but v5.0.10 will not. i saw forum posts about setting the Bios, adding hyper-v in "windows preferences", etc -- but i just removed 5.0.10 and grabbed 4.3.34 and the older version has no issues with 64 bit.

when i go to build a new VM, none of the 64 bit options will show up. this seems to be a well documented problem, but i assumed it was either a windows setting or a bios setting, not a version update.

i have a windows 10 machine.

thanks.

A VBox.log file from a VM which you started with VBox 5.0.10 could show the reason.
