Upgrade from Open Source edition to rpm

Post by johnnyd »

Hi

I am currently using 5.7 OS edition and need usb support, if I try and install the suse rpm version it says I must uninstall the previous version first, if I uninstall this version will it leave the virtual disk in place which will then work with version 6.2 suse rpm version as I have data I don't want to lose on the guest XP machine?

Thanks

When removing VirtualBox, any settings and Virtual Machines will be kept. This is done because of the change from OSE to Binary, and in Windows to update the program (that is now solved, no longer needed to uninstall old version before updating).
So, you can freely uninstall VB OSE and install the RPM.
