windows 10 build 10586 and network interface error

Post by marcello.g »

after upgrade to windows 10 build 10586.17, I don't see any VM in my VirtualBox manager (5.0.10 r104061).
OK. I recover my VM, but I'm getting this error:

Failed to open/create the internal network 'HostInterfaceNetworking-Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller' (VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND).
Failed to attach the network LUN (VERR_SUPDRV_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND).
Codice 'uscita: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Componente: ConsoleWrap
Interfaccia: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}

someone had the same problem? any suggestions?

POST EDIT:
sorry...
there was already a solution (from point nr. 3):

I had to jump through a few hoops to get it running on build 10130. Mind you, I've so far been unsuccessful getting Hyper-V running on that build, but I was able to get VirtualBox 5rc 101271 running, with bridged networking functioning, no less.

1. Install normally
2. Reboot
3. Manually install bridged networking drivers C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\drivers\network\netlwf\VBoxNetLwf.inf (right click, select install)
4. Open network sharing center and click on "Change Adapter Settings"
5. Right-Click on your Ethernet adapter and select "Properties"
6. Click "Install"
7. Select "Service"
8. Select Virtual Box NDIS Bridged Network Driver
9. Select OK.

After doing all this, I still couldn't get bridged networking working until I ran virtual box as an administrator. Once I do all that it works just fine.

Thanks so much for posting this. Had the same problem. Got a Windows 10 update that removed bridging. Funny part is that the update also removed the Microsoft Bridge that I had in the network interfaces.

Thanks,
Greg
