Running Sage Soverign DOS under VB

Hi,
We have been (trying) to set up Sage 200 to work under VirtualBox. The Sage data files live on a server, accisble via shares....
In the VB XP image Sage runs with lots of Networking issues - coming up with Lock files and time outs as if the connection has been dropped.
We have stripped it all back so only one person is accessing it at once, but it still falls over.
On the VM we have now set the network speed all the way down to 10mbps full duplex - this has improved things slightly - yet the the issue remains.
Has anyone else had any expirance with this, or really old school DOS apps with networking running under VB having simliar issues?
Thanks

FWIW,
From the Sage siteā¦
In April 2014, Microsoft ended all support for Windows XP. This means that if you use Windows XP, your computer and your data may be significantly more vulnerable to malicious security attacks. We take the protection of your data extremely seriously which is why new versions of Sage software will no longer install or operate on Windows XP.

The version of Sage Soverign is about 20 years old.... Supported ended for it since Windows 98

There's no "DOS networking". There were about 50 different networking products running on top of DOS. What's worse, since this is a networked environment, how do you know which end of the connection the problem is on?
At a minimum, you need to post VBox.log to see if there are any obvious problems (most likely there won't be). The next thing would be capturing packet traces and trying to pin down where things are going wrong.
File sharing using the Microsoft network stack is known to work well in DOS VMs running in VirtualBox. Given the multitude of DOS networking solutions, that may or may not have any relevance.

It was running in a XP enviroment without issue so i'm sure everything thing else is OK. Good call on the packet capture - i'll give that a go.
As far as I know its DOS based app - i have no experiance in dealing with this - just dumped on my lap

Just an update....
It appears that the Soverign applcation bombs out when you access other network files on the host PC i.e. from mapped network drives.
