When is the last time you actually rebooted the guest? I see a ton of suspend and resumes and really can not account for them.

I also see that you have enabled IO/APIC and that is not really necessary for a 32-bit guest which may cause an issue but I don't know if it would affect the network.

From what I get this used to work with an older version, correct?

Some things you can try.

• 1) revert back a version or two and see if it works.
  2) install a second guest ( as a test ) to see if it has the same issues. That would tell us if it is the guest or something else. ( be sure to use the defaults )

First, what didn't work: I had previously gone back to earlier versions, and tried guests using a tiny version of Linux, which seemingly worked fine, and an older WinXP VDI (a backup created before the presumed automatic software update that caused the problem), which didn't work fine at all. I had rebooted the guest many times.

I'm certain I had tried different chipsets and other settings too. At any rate, the IO/APIC setting was required for the ICH9 chipset, so I just switched that off and switched to the other chipset. Lo and behold, it works fine now.
