Hardware drivers for Windows OS

When I am running a Windows guest on a Windows host, and a particular vendor has provided driver updates for various hardware devices present on the Windows host, such as Intel HD graphics adapters, gigabit ethernet controllers and audio drivers, should these be installed on the Windows guests too? Also, does putting them only on the host make any difference in the guest functionality? Thanks.

The guest is running on virtualized hardware, and as such, it doesn't matter what the host's hardware is. As for your second question, you may see differences in functionality, mainly on the graphics drivers.
