I want to see how it goes since user BillG was so kind as to read and answer my other question and suggest that. What I wonder is if there is any partitioning or something that doesn't completely revert in case I decide to uninstall? TIA.

Bonus if you can answer regarding Virtual PC. Contrary to Just because it's Microsoft doesn't mean they know what they're doing.

No, VirtualBox won't make any permanent changes to your computer.

On a different topic, as a user-to-user, please do not keep asking questions on how to compare different virtualization software. This is a user forum for VirtualBox support, not "PC-Magazine" where we review and score different virtualization software. Thanks for understanding.

Moderators, if you are going to permit that user's attacks on all of my posts, just delete my account and every question and I will be happy to avoid Virtual Box permanently. I have an enthusiastic attitude, worked extremely hard to write sensible questions, but this user has some kind of personal problem about it and is attacking every thread, and effectively intimidating others from giving serious answers.

I have a 10 to 1 answer-to-question ratio in other technical forums and am a great contributor, a model netizen; but if you permit behavior like socratis's, I will not waste my time here.

Even the half-answer that is made below sounds suspicious. Don't virtual machines construct a sandboxed partition during setup? I expected the answer to lead to my asking how big other users made their partitions, and if I made backup images, should I add room in the virtual machine partition for that, etc.

I thought collaborative exchanges of information and ideas was why we have forums like this to begin with. Not chasing away new product users.
