Crashes on El Capitan

Installed VirtualBox 5.0.10 on El Capitan 10.11.1 last night. Tried to create a Linux VM. When I finished the wizard and clicked Save VirtualBox crashed. I removed VirtualBox 5.0.10, installed 4.3 and tried again. Same result. Any ideas?

I'm not running 10.11, but I've seen many people here that do and this is the first time I've seen this happening. One thing is for sure. VirtualBox 4.3 will have severe problems in 10.11. It's funny that it even runs. You could try the newest test build from
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds , but I doubt it that it will work.
I believe there is something wrong with your host and/or your setup. For example, the default VM creation folder is the "default" or did you change it? To an external drive for example? We need as many details as possible. Way more than the OS version and the VBox version.

socratis is correct. One, VB 4.3.* will not run on OSX 10.11.1 and two, seeing I have VB 5.0.10 and had earlier versions of VB 5.0.* running on three different Macs also running OSX 10.11.1 through 10.11.2 Beta 4, something else is going on. What Linux distro did you install from what Linux .iso? Also, what "wizard" are you referring to?
An error message would be nice.

All installation and new VM defaults were accepted. No path changes. No external drive. The wizard to which I refer is the series of new VM dialog boxes asking for name, type, version, memory, etc. Tried to set up Linux types Ubuntu-64 and Other-64. Never got a chance to install the ISO because the app crashed and, when restarted, didn’t display a new VM in the VM Manager. No error messages. Crash report is attached.
Update: Further testing reveals that I may create the VM if I select either Do Not Add A Virtual Hard Disk or Fixed. If I select Dynamic then VB crashes.

The error in your crash log…
Code: Select all
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x0000000000000000
Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY
Has cropped up periodically on OSX over the past five years which is normally caused by a kext conflict with another third party kext installed on a Mac. Tracking down which program is causing an issue is not always easy. If you do an online search for "EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)" you will find numerous links that describe the problem and some ways to try and fix it.
One program I know that gave OSX 10.11.1 fits while it was still in testing is Elmedia Player.
It's not an issue of VirtualBox per se. As I mentioned, I have VirtualBox 5.0.10 installed on three different Macs without any issues.
