NAT network service

Hi,
I am trying to set the following:
I need some Windows Guest VMs on my MAC host which should use NAT network services to interconnect. I want to assign fixed IPs to the guest machines in order to make the connection independent from where I connect to the internet (yes, I am on a macbook).
For some reason (in which I am interested in) I cannot connect from my host to the VMs.

Please advise,

Areil

VMs on a NAT network are already independant of how the host connects, so your question is misplaced IMHO. You should not mess with the IP assignment in a NAT VM.

could you please elaborate:

I need constant access to my VMs from my host as well as between the VMs.

If I work in bridged mode they receive always new IPs and I cannot refer to them the same way.

I mean that VMs which use NAT are assigned IP addresses by the VirtualBox NAT DHCP server, not by the physical network. So, don't mess with the IP addresses.

Given your request I would simply add a second virtual adapter to the the guest set to host-only. This allows the host <> guest communications whether there is a network connection or not.
See chapter 6 Virtual networking in your VirtualBox users manual.
