Post by radek »

VirtualBox 5.0.10
Host: Windows 7 x64
guest: Ubuntu 14.04.3 x64

Shared folder doesn't appear on disks list in guest.

Where can i report this problem, is this correct place?

Here is fine.

Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

FWIW, a couple things…
One, the log you posted is not complete. You need to shutdown the guest first.
Two, A shared folder would never show as a disk in the "disk list" seeing they are not a disk, even if pointing to a disk. Shared folders mount in /media unless you manually mount them elsewhere.
OSX, Linux and Windows Hosts & Guests
There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.

Code: Select all

00:03:15.265397 supR3HardenedErrorV: supR3HardenedScreenImage/LdrLoadDll: rc=VERR_LDRVI_NOT_SIGNED fImage=1 fProtect=0x0 fAccess=0x0 \Device\HarddiskVolume2\ProgramData\GG\ggdrive\ggdrive-overlay.dll: Not signed.
I would remove the above and see if it helps, or download one that is signed.

Log after close guest.
I opened /media and found folder sf_D_DRIVE but i haven't permission to open it.
I cannot manualy mount this folder because i do not know what disk it is.

I have a little expirence with Linux so maybe i do not know what/how to do it.

radek@radek-VirtualBox:~$ ls -l /media/
total 8
drwxr-x---+ 3 root root 4096 lis 22 14:45 radek
drwxrwx--- 1 root vboxsf 0 sty 1 1980 sf_D_DRIVE
drwxrwx--- 2 root vboxsf 4096 lis 21 18:30 sf_E_DRIVE

sudo chmod doesn't help

Did you add your user name to the vboxsf group on the guest? ( explained in the link I sent you )

In a guest terminal run this:

Code: Select all

sudo usermod -aG vboxsf <your username>
Replace <your username> with the name you use to log in. Type your user password when prompted.

Be sure to reboot to finalize the change in permissions
