Version 5.0.8 and 5.0.10 unstable

I updated my VirtualBox to 5.0.8 and then to 5.0.10 and in both cases VirtualBox caused a blue screen crash of my Windows7 system. This is the first time this has happened to me for any release of VirtualBox.

I have downgraded to version 5.0.6 which is stable and does not crash my machine.

I run RedHat Enterprise Linux 6.2 in my VM hosted by Win7.

I don't know why this is happening or if anybody has had the same issue. I am sorry I can't provide any more information.

Thank you.

Why is this in the beta forum? Both of the versions you mention are releases, not betas.

Moving this to "Windows Hosts".

Sorry, I'm new to this forum and made a mistake. Thanks for moving it for me.

First, correlation is not causation. It could be that VirtualBox tries to use a resource (e.g. RAM) and a defect in the resource causes a crash. VMs use a lot of resources, often much more than your other apps. You should check your hosts RAM, disk, run a graphics check etc.

Failing all else, a crash dump would be needed. Google for how to enable minidumps. A better description of the BSOD might help too.

It would also be nice to have a description of the circumstances of the BSOD. I.e. what you were doing at the time. I have assumed you were launching a VM, though you have not said so.
