Hello All!

The latest version of VirtualBox. Latest version of Robolinux XFCE. (Kernel Linux 3.16.0-4amd64(x86_64))
My computer is a Dell Inspiron 1521 AMD Turion 64 X 2 800.00 mhz with 4 Gig of memory. 250Gig Hard drive.Virtualization is on.
I give 1024 memory to windows XP professional both 64 and 32 and it crashes my whole system while loading either windows versions.
I give 2048 memory to windows 7 ultimate both 64 and 32 and it crashes my whole system while loading either windows versions.
In all cases it starts loading windows disk system then freezes and then completely crashes and system reboots.

Can someone help me get windows loaded please?

Thanks for helping and taking the time to read this!

Post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

I forgot this. When I look for a log it says there is no log and talks about refreshing. After refreshing there is still no log.

Then post the following as an attachment:
/var/log/vbox-install.log

I am assuming you mean these files. There is no folder Vbox-install.

Thanks!

Actually I meant what I posted. If you have installed VirtualBox then the file I indicated would exist. If however you are using a special version of VirtualBox from some other place than virtualbox.org you would need to ask them how to fix your problem.

That's great but does not answer any questions. Where does the version of VirtualBox come from?

I reloaded Virtualbox and VBox-installinglog.txt is attached.

Thanks!

Ok so now try to start a guest and if it fails post the guests log file ( as an attachment ). Right click on the guest in the Main Manager then click show log. Save and post as an attachment. Compress if it is too large to post.

Same for both Windows 7 and Windows XP. No log. Even after refresh.

Thanks!

I appears since there is absolutely noting in the log file that the host is having issues.
Look in dmesg around the time of the last crash and see what it says caused the problem.

Neither of those files show a presence of VirtualBox or a crash. You should ask the distro for help in this matter.

one last thing you can test. Open a terminal on the host and type virtualbox. This should open the main manager. If so then you can close it and try to start the guest with the following command and see what the terminal has to say.

VBoxManage startvm <vmname>

Replace the <vmname> with the actual name of the machine and wrap it in quotes if there are spaces.
