failed to import appliance

I am trying to import an appliance to the latest version of VirtualBox - but get the error "failed to import appliance".

The details are: Internal inconsistency looking up disk image 'cs-bundle.msg'. Check compliance OVA package structure and file names references in the section <References> in the OVF file..

This OVA can be opened by VMWare Player OK but I would like to use this OVA in VirtualBox. Is this "internal inconsistency looking up disk image" a possible fault in VirtualBox? Could this problem be fixed? Please.

Well, "xxx.msg" is unlikely to be a disk image, so that's an inconsistency right there.

That error message has been reported a few times, e.g. here. Google has more hits.
