Please Help... VirtualBox completely screwed up
I have searched here for help without success. I cannot log into my accounting or recording software, which I use in Windows XP Mode in Virtual Box v. 4.3.22.
I am getting the following error message:
Virtual Box - Error In VirtualBox
WinVerifyTrust failed on stub executable: WinVerifyTrust failed with hrc=Unknown Status 0x8009200D on '\Device\HarddiskVolume6\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\VirtualBox.exe' (rc=-22919)
Please try reinstalling VirtualBox.
I have attempted to remove the most recent Windows Update issue mentioned in other posts, but there are a myriad of other problems that come up after this.
This is very critical to my business and I have spent hours fruitlessly trying to fix this to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please could you attach the VBoxHardening.log file?
Re: Please Help... VirtualBox completely screwed up
I have the same problem, and found that this:
0x8009200DCRYPT_E_BAD_MSGNot a cryptographic message or the cryptographicmessage is not formatted correctly
but still got no luck to a solution.

Re: Please Help... VirtualBox completely screwed up
I just upgraded to 4.3.34, but in the process of trying to fix the situation, something got royally messed up. I am desperate for any help that can be offered, as I use VirtualBox for my accounting software.
When I try to start my most recent snapshot, I'm getting the following error:
VirtualBox - Error
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine XPMode.
pci#0: Device in slot 0x30 has been removed!
vendor=0x106b device=0x003f [ver=3 pass=final]
(VERR_SSM_LOAD_CONFIG_MISMATCH).
Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole
{8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}
If I can figure out how to create a zip file, I can post the log you are requesting. Otherwise, can you provide me an e-mail address to which I could e-mail a text file?

Save the hardening log Frank asked for to your desktop. Right-click it and choose "Send To", then "Compressed (zipped) folder". On the forum, Attach the Zip file using the "Upload Attachment" tab below the post text box.

Some sort of problem with USB device configuration. Hard to say what exactly. What was the snapshot created with?CountryLawyer wrote:pci#0: Device in slot 0x30 has been removed!

Re: Please Help... VirtualBox completely screwed up
Ok... For good measure, on this and the next post I am just posting zip files of everything in my Windows (C:)/Users/James/VirtualBox VMs/XPMode/Logs folder.
My snapshot was made by just going up to the left corner in VirtualBox and selecting the option to take a snapshot. I'm certain the problem occurred in my attempts to upgrade to 5.0.10, then uninstall, then install lower versions.

Re: Please Help... VirtualBox completely screwed up
Install the corresponding Extension Pack. USB is part of the Extension Pack.

Re: Please Help... VirtualBox completely screwed up
Have you actually rebooted the guest? It looks like you are using saved state and that will be an issue with this kind of thing.
I would also recommend that you keep daily (complete) backups since you are using so many snapshots on a VHD guest.
