Since upgrading to 5

Post by FrodoHobbits »

I've been using 5 now for around a month and more often than not when I shutdown an XP, Win7, QNX or DOS Box the icon shows as being Aborted.
Upgraded to the latest version yesterday but still have this problem.

XP & Win7 boxes shutdown with no problems (they just sometimes show as aborted) and if I boot them backup again and shut them down they appear as they should in the manager.
Not a game breaker but just slightly annoying to someone like me who likes things looking "just so"

Could you attach the VBox.log file of such a VM session which was aborted? Could be very well a crash during VM shutdown which must be fixed.

Sorry for the delay but I have been on holiday.
Please find logs of Win7 & QNX images that showed they were Aborted even though they seemed to shutdown with no issue.

Thanks. Looks really like the problem we've got a couple of reports for. This looks like a recent regression. Do you know if this also happens with VBox 5.0.8? And are you able to provide some application dump (see here -- scroll down to the Windows part)?

It started with 5.0.0.
I waited and upgraded to 5.0.6 and the problem was still there, same with 5.0.8 and now with 5.0.10
I'll try and get an application dump to you.
Thanks for your time.

We just fixed a problem which started with VBox 5.0.6. You might want to give the latest 5.0.x test build (>= revision 104224) a try.

I played around with my images on and off all day yesterday and didn't get the issue once :( Typical isn't it.
I'll give the latest build a trial and will let you know if this issue appears again.
Thanks again.
