Seamless mode windows not being displayed.

Post by DaVinci »

I want to hide all the ugly screens that are typical with a virtual machine boot. Duh, run headless right....but then I want to bring the VM to the foreground, but only the application windows... Duh, run seamless.....except that does not work. I can start seamless, put up with the ugly boxes and then the running experience is like I want it. I can start headless, and get the boot experience that I want(nothing visable), but when I go to switch to seamless, the window flys up for a split second and then disapears. The VM is still running, and I can see in the preview that the windows are up, just not visable on the host. How can I make this work?

Wow, not a single response. I'm stunned, especially considering how critical a feature like this would be to virtualized applications, you know making applications from one platform look native on another.

Maybe if someone could at least acknowledge this bug, that would make me feel a lot better.

It's a bug if a feature is advertised, but does not work correctly. This is a feature request.

It may be important to you, but to the majority of people, it's not. Plus you simply want to avoid the OS screens. Most of the people don't bother.

OK, there is a new feature called "Detachable" added to "Normal" and "Headless". I have not tried it, but it's worth giving it a swirl. Search the user manual for info on how to do it. Let us know if it works.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

It's not important yet. ;) Most people maybe don't know how close they are to true fully virtualized/sanboxed applications, but once they do, those OS screens are going to be really annoying.
I'll include a link that basicly shows where I am at and how annoying they are.

Here is what headless to seamless looks like.

Detachable was actually the worst, as it showed the OS screens and then disappeared like I had launched headless to seamless, so the worst of both.https://youtu.be/iqev-7uCtXQ

DaVinci, you can post your feature request on the Bugtracker as an Enhancement. The developers will look at it and decide if they want to implement it.
