Duplex mismatch may occur - Intel PRO Set II

Hi,
I saw someone else posting this same issue but the thread was unresolved:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=55509&p=256113&hili ... ch#p256113
I have the following setup:
Host: Windows 8.1, VBox 5.0.8, Bridged Networking (Intel I217-LM to guest Intel PRO/1000 MT Server)
Guest: Windows NT4 SP 6a
In the event log on the guest, I see this message:
E1001 is setup for auto-negotiation but the link partner is not configured for auto-negotiation. A duplex mismatch may occur.
I also have the same event running the VM on a Linux Debian Host.
There is a second message that reports that the link has been established.
I don't appear to have any issues with the guest NIC, but this message bugs me. On occasion the Guest gets stuck during boot and I notice that the Pro Set II system tray icon hasn't loaded when this happens. I'm wondering whether this has anything to do with it.
