Hi, I have a Linux xubuntu (14.04.3 LTS) workstation and I am running a Windows 7 VM so I can get my email via my company's exchange servers.

The issue I am having is that ever since I updated this morning my Windows VM is using 100% of the CPU as soon as it starts up. I have installed the latest tools package on it and reboot the guest as well as the Linux host to no avail. I have, for now reduced the execution cap to less than 40% so that I can have a usuable host. I am considering downgrading to version 5.0.8 so that my windows 7 VM doesn't feel as sluggish.

I would wait it out. Windows update takes a huge toll on the CPU until it finishes and indexes as well. Setting the CPU execution cap will only make it take longer and it has to finish.

I don't think that's it though, updates are run during the night by the Domain controller and this only started happening after I updated the VirtualBox package to 5.0.10 this morning. I've put the cap back to 100% and my workstation load is hanging steady at 1.4 with the 3 Vbox processes. The top runs around 130% the second steady at 70% and the 3rd at 50%. I just got confirmation from my Windows admin that my windows instance is not running updates at the moment.
