Monitor Count (Multiple Monitors) broken on build 5.0.8

Post by edtheprogrammerguy »

I have been successfully running a configuration with a monitor count of 2 (Win 8 host, Win 7 target). After installing the latest version of Virtual Box (5.0.8 r103449), however, the second monitor window is gone and I can't seem to get it back. I have tried setting the Monitor count to 1 and back to 2 again, but to no avail.
No matter what I do only one monitor window will open up.
Any ideas??

I and other have the same issue. I posted about it today or yesterday, no input yet. There is another thread with a lot more people reporting this issue. For myself both host and guest are windows 7. I've had the issue since I moved to 5.0.8, and it persists in 5.0.10.

Try this:
  • Go to normal mode (not seamless, not full screen). Your VM should show in its own window, so you can see the menu bar for the VM.
  • View menu -> Virtual Screen 2 -> Enable
