Hi,
I use VirtualBox 5.0.8. I have Windows 8 host with 32 Gb of RAM (over 20 Gb is free). I run Windows 10 guest with 8 Gb RAM (about 3-4 Gb RAM is used, peak at 5 Gb).
The problem: Process Explorer reports that VirtualBox.exe process use less than 200 Mb of RAM ("Working set"), but "Virtual Size" is a bit less than 9 Gb. "Private bytes" is also less than 200 Mb.
Is there some setting to tell VirtualBox to use more RAM either to back VM's RAM or for file caching - since I have plenty free RAM available? I suspect this would greatly reduce disk usage for some operations inside VM.
Force VirtualBox to use MORE RAM?

Re: Force VirtualBox to use MORE RAM?
Not as far as I know. IMHO file caching of host files is a job for the host OS, not VirtualBox, and reliability issues also need to be considered.
