VirtualBox crashes with 3D applications

Dear all,
VirtualBox crashes whenever I run an application involving 3D rendring. However, when I disable 3D Acceleration VirtualBox, it doesn't crash and the terminal shows the following error instead and the application runs without showing the 3D objects:

My guest is Ubuntu 14.04.3 (on VirtualBox 5.0.
hosted by windows 7.
It seems like a problem related to the virtual graphic drivers. I checked everything related to guest additions, it is installed and updated. The following is the result of "glxinfo | grep OpenGL":

I tried using older versions of guest additions but this also didn't work.

Umm... you mention a crash and then provide no information about it. Instead you go into detail about another mode is which there is no crash.
Also please be clear: does VirtualBox crash, or does an application running inside the guest OS crash?
Finally, please post a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click and "Show Log" in the GUI, save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip, and attach the zip here.

Well, I couldn't capture any errors from the terminal in the first case (3D Acceleration enabled) to report here. When I disable 3D acceleration it doesn't crash but it shows the mentioned errors. I did this following other threads discussing similar problem. To be specific, it is not just the application that crashes, but the whole guest OS display crashes. However, after the guest OS display forcedly shuts down, VirtualBox is still running.
Attached the VM log file from the latest run.

I don't see a crash in the log. I see the VM running for 7m50s and then being shut down.
I do see an OpenGL error immediately before that in the log :-

But those are warnings, they look harmless (unknown enumeration passed in the capabilities test), and in any case occur about 6 minutes before the shutdown.
I'm still not clear on what your symptoms are. Do you mean that you get a BSOD and reboot of the guest?
You might want to check for updated drivers for your host graphics card.
