Hi,

I have virtualbox 5.0.6r103449 installed on a windows 7 64 bit with the latest updates.

On the virtual box I installed also a windows 7 64 bit
Now I defined in the settings of virtual box a common folder.
If I start the virtual machine the common folder is not visible in on the windows 7 virtual machine.
Also the network is not seen, although the virtual machine is in the same workgroup.
The common folder is the d drive of the computer.
on d drive also virtual box is saving its files.

VirtualBox was added to firewall (input/output) and also to the virus app (kaspersky) as allowed.

What is wrong?

If by "common folder" you mean the guest's Settings' Shared Folders, you need to install the Guest Additions in the guest, then the "\\vboxsvr" network path will be available and you can get to your shared folder from there.

Also the network is not seen, although the virtual machine is in the same workgroup.

The guest's network settings default to "NAT", which is the easiest way to get a guest to access the internet, but won't allow usual networking with other PCs & guests on your network. "Bridged" is the correct setting to make the guest appear to be just another computer on your network, so the Homegroup arrangement will work. Also, be sure you did not change the type of guest virtual network card from the default "Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop", which Windows 7 has built-in drivers for.

This is fine. Just be careful you don't try to write to the guest's files on the D drive from within the guest.

As a possibly new user, allow me please to suggest some advice: Don't use snapshots except on experimental guests and data you would not mind losing if something goes wrong. The forums are replete with folks destroying their guests and data because they misused this feature.

Also, take regular backups of your guests. See this tutorial "Moving a VM": viewtopic.php?f=35&t=55003 and re-interpret it as "Backing Up a VM".
