Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a way to block internet access on the HOST and allow it on the GUEST.
Could someone help me? I looked on the internet but actually didn't find a way.

Thx a lot in advance!

Johan

There are a number of ways to do that, but none of them rely on any VirtualBox features or settings.

How is the guest networking configured? If you are using the default NAT setting, it cannot be done. The guest is sharing the host's Internet connection.

If you, for example as in my case, need to use Internet access through 2 ISPs on the same hardware simultaneously, you can run virtual machine configured for bridged networking, but you will need separete physical netwok adapters for each ISP.
If you need to disable Internet access from host system to one of the ISPs, disable TCP/IP protocols in network properties of one of your physical netwok adapters attached to that ISP, and use bridged mode in your VirtualBox guest system (selecting a proper physical netwok adapter in its properties).
Please note, that VirtualBox versions 5.0.4 and above have some issues with bridging.
Test build 104375 (with filename VirtualBox-5.0.51-104375-Win.exe) solved the issue with bridged networking for me. See Ticket #14578 ("Unable to select network adaptor that has TCP/IP disabled.") for details.
I tested this build on Windows 10 host and it works.

@LastWord: I appreciate the useful service that you're currently performing, but it really isn't necessary to link to the bridged networking fix in absolutely every discussion involving networking. Just the topics dealing specifically with a recently broken bridged networking feature will do.
