I need some help here

Post by DevilDude »

I need some help here. I'm extremely new to virtual box, so I've never used it before really, and I just need to do something simple. At school, we are using Android Studio to make basic things in Java, then run them using GenyMotion. However, the VirtualBox portion of Geny doesn't seem to be working correctly. When I try to run Geny, I get errors telling me to go to VirtualBox, and when I try running the device in VirtualBox, it just stops and gives me an error. I've messed around with it for hours and now I've done a dozen re-installs to the point where the device I'm trying to use (Samsung Galaxy S5) apparently doesn't show up in VirtualBox anymore. If anyone could help, it would be very, very appreciated.

The thing is, this is not a Genymotion support forum. We just can't help you. If you have a problem with VirtualBox, you need to leave Genymotion entirely out of it. If you have a problem with Genymotion, you have to seek help elsewhere.

I was told to come here, as if the virtual machine doesn't run in virtual box, then they can't help me either.

Have you tried to install Ubuntu or some other Linux guest to see if it works?
At a minimum we would need to see a guest log of a failed guest.

I found a way to make it work, thank you. I'll try to delete this thread if I can find the option, if I can't, at least someone can see that I worked it out on my own.
