I am trying to install 32 bit Windows 7 on a Macbook Pro 2015 (Yosemite 10.10.5) from an external optical drive. The optical drive is getting picked up on the OS X desktop and when I run through the installation process it installs the virtual machine but then it won't boot the windows disk I have in the optical drive, I keep getting this error -
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Win7.
AHCI: Failed to attach drive to Port1 (VERR_GENERAL_FAILURE).
Result Code: NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005)
Component: ConsoleWrap
Interface: IConsole {872da645-4a9b-1727-bee2-5585105b9eed}
I could not find anything by putting in the full or partial error message into the search field in this forum?
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Installing 32bit Win 7 on Yosemite 10.10.5, MacBook Pro
Can you clarify what you mean here…
Are you saying you successfully created a Windows 7 guest but the guest can't read disks in the optical drive or the Windows 7 guest won't boot?The optical drive is getting picked up on the OS X desktop and when I run through the installation process it installs the virtual machine but then it won't boot the windows disk I have in the optical drive, I keep getting this error -
