VM XP no network adaptater

Hello,

I've just import a .vdi XP file.
The installation well proceeds.
But unfortunately, no network adaptater is linked to my VM...
Why ??

You are the one who is able to look at the VM settings, only you can know where this VM came from or why the recipe failed. But it really doesn't matter: go into the VM settings and fix the network settings.

HA! You forgot to mask your MAC address! Now you're done! All your base are belong to us!!! :twisted:

Seriously, what's up with all the secrecy? Do you really believe that if you show your username or the UUID of your VM, (which makes sense to NO ONE besides your local VirtualBox installation) it will compromise your system security? Oh, wait, I've seen that before; it's called security through obscurity.
A system relying on security through obscurity may have theoretical or actual security vulnerabilities, but its owners or designers believe that if the flaws are not known, then attackers will be unlikely to find them.
Your username is NOT a flaw. Neither are the CPUIDs that I've seen some other people "masking". Jeez...

But in the network settings I've got no options.. For my others VM I used to put at "not attached" !

You have to change the emulated NIC type (not the host attachment!) to AMD PCnet.

The problem was choosing 64-bit rather than 32-bit XP guest type. I'm guessing here since you don't say what you're actually running, as if there was just one variant of XP in existence.

Perhaps the use of the word "import" was at fault. This led me to believe that we were discussing a existing VM that had already been proved on another host, with perhaps just a broken NIC bridge to fix. Creating a new VM is not importing. Creating a new VM around an existing disk is not importing the VM either.
