Windows 7 Professional Update on iMac running Virtual Box VM

Somehow I kicked off a Windows 7 update on my virtual machine yesterday. It says there are 145 updates, after 17 hours (I'm not kidding) it is at #133. Why is it taking so long. I don't even care about the updates because I am only practicing with this version of Windows. Can I kill it in the middle? Ugh!
