I have several virtual machines in my VB on a MAC OS (El Capitan) - among them Debian - Mint - Lubuntu - any time a create a vdi out of the Live CD no problem
now I'm testing another linux distro called Slitaz (version 5.0) - did as usual with the Live CD and it starts normally but it won't create a virtual machine in my MAC - on booting I need the LiveCD otherwise get a boot fatal error
anything special to do? I'm not very cool with Virtualbox and usually I'm using the standard setup indicated by the system
thank you for any hint

Re: Linux distro on VB
Details of error please.
Also, post a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click it in GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Re: Linux distro on VB
Also here the error message
FATAL no bootable medium found! System halted.
Re: Linux distro on VB
had problem virtualizing other distros as well - I tried to uninstall Virtualbox in order to re-install the 5.0 version (I do use the 4. one) - my MAC says that's not possible to uninstall cause it's a third program not pertaining to Apple family - any hint?

Re: Linux distro on VB
Why did you convert the text log to RTF? Never mind, just skip that step next time please.
The error is "No bootable media found", which in my experience is always correct. If you get that error message then none of the media currently attached to the VM and enabled in the boot order, is actually bootable.

Re: Linux distro on VB
I have been using Macs for decades and I've never seen nor heard of such an error message. Just dbl-click on the VirtualBox_Uninstall.tool if you want to uninstall VirtualBox.VBtesting wrote:had problem virtualizing other distros as well - I tried to uninstall Virtualbox in order to re-install the 5.0 version (I do use the 4. one) - my MAC says that's not possible to uninstall cause it's a third program not pertaining to Apple family - any hint?
