VB 5.0.6 with matching GA installed in the host.
Host: Windows 10 Home 64-bit with 4G total (2.5G available with guest running.)
Guest: Ubuntu 14.04-3 64-bit with 1.5G assigned to it.
This problem occurs with Fedora 22 64-bit and Mint Cinnamon 17.2 64-bit as well.
Saving VM state fails with an "aborted" state in console. Should be "saved". Sometimes works; sometimes not. No obvious pattern.
This began with 5.0.6 - 5.0.4 did not do this.
Logs attached as zip. One fails and the other works (look at filename). The log shows an error at the end which has to be the problem. It is exactly the same hardware and guest settings do not change between failure and success.

Re: Save state aborts
You might want to try the current Windows test build. https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Testbuilds
But as far as this...

Not sure why you thought this but the available memory you think you have is before you start a guest. You can try reducing the guest RAM.Host: Windows 10 Home 64-bit with 4G total (2.5G available with guest running.)

Re: Save state aborts
The fix should be part of 5.0.12 as described in ticket #14785.
