ctrl-space IME problem

Chinese window uses ctrl-space to start IME, however when I ran chinese win-xp on ubuntu host, it seem that VB cannot capture ctrl-space to pass it to win-xp client. Instead nothing can be typed after ctrl-space. Do anyone have experience with this problem?

I found the answer in another post in this forum.

On Main Window
File --> Preferences --> Input
Uncheck "Auto Capture Keyboard"

However, what will be missed without "Auto Capture Keyboard"?
