Hi,
I'm using the VB (4.3.30) Windows 8 in a MacBook Air and recently I did the upgrade of my OS X to El Capitan.
And as I saw after I did the upgrade, my USB in the VB isn't working anymore. Then I read in this forum that really has an issue in VB 4.3 with El Capitan.
So, I'd like to know: if I do the upgrade from VB 4.3.30 to VB 5.0.0 would I lose my files in Windows?
Is there any way to fix the USB issue in VB with El Capitan?
If anyone could help me, I'd appreciate so much.
And thank's anyway..

Option 1): Waitlorenzopacheco wrote:Is there any way to fix the USB issue in VB with El Capitan?
Option 2): If you know deep-down level USB/kernel/kext/Darwin programming, coupled with VirtualBox's multi-architecture style, I'm sure the developers would really appreciate a fix/patch. Other than that, see Option 1.

FWIW, VB 5.0.6 seems to have fixed the USB issues with OSX 10.11. At least with all the scenarios I've tried.

loukinkjr and socratis, thanks for the attention.
The version of VB I'm using is 4.3.30 r101610, and when I check for updates, it says that it's the latest version.
But when I searched about in this forum and later at oracle's site, there's is the 5.0.6.
I've already dowloaded the 5.0.6, but I'm worry in installing it and lose everything I have in the Windows on VB 4.3.30.
If I install it (5.0.6), will it reconize the oldest version (4.3.30) and all programs instaled there? Or I'll have the start from the begginning all over it?
Will be necessary to install another extension pack to reconize the USB? If so, wich one?
Thanks again.

Installing V 5.0.6 won't touch your guests. They will show up in the GUI list just as they do in VB 4.3.30. As far as the extension pack, you install the matching version which is on the the download page. Once installed, you should also update the guest additions for each guest.

loukingjr, I did the upgrade.
While I was doing it, it asked me to upgrade the extensions packs too. I did normally.
I opened the VB normally, I did reconized the USB ports but when I clicked to "turn on" the USB port, it shows a critical error and shut down the VB.
In the error message explained to get the log of the error but I coulnd't find it yet.
And later, when I tried to re-open the VB, it showed that failed to define the GUI key (NS_ERROR_CALL_FAILED (0x800706BE)) and about 6 more erros.
Do you know how can I solve it?
Thanks a lot.
