black screen after login using guest additions

VBox 5.0.0 and 5.0.6 with Guest additions installed in Fedora KDE 21-22 and Kubuntu 15.04
After installing VirtualBox Guest additions and attempting to login, the desktop doesn't load and all I have is black screen. If Guest additions is not loaded at any time after a fresh Linux install I have no problems logging to my guest. uninstalling guest additions afterwards (in Kubuntu, I can still see my yakuake terminal window to uninstall GA) doesn't resolve the issue. I typically install the following packages after a fresh Fedora or Kubuntu install then install guest additions from the mounted ISO image (Insert Guest Additions CD Image), see below. I haven't had an issue with using Guest Additions until the most recent Versions of VirtualBox. I may have also had this issue with the last version 4.3 version before 5.0 came out. I thought it was my Linux build at the time, and wiped it out only to discover later that is was because Guest additions was installed.
My physical Video Cards are in SLI and are Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 680's, if that matters.
