Hi
I use the virtual box in Parsix Linux (Debian SID derivate) und did install Windows 95. It works good, a bit slow, but good. And the graphic tablett from Wacom with mouse and pen is operable in Windows 95 as in Linux! Very well...
I have following problem:
- I did commute the visualisation to full screen. But no full screen did come: the windows for Windows 95 is always a little window! And the rest is black now so that the task bar is not easy to reach etc... It is really silly dilly this effect!
What is to do to change it?
Bye
full screen

As you are running an ancient OS in VB, you are limited to the default VGA driver that is a lot slower. The VirtualBox Guest Additions do not support Windows 9x, so you won't be able to dynamically change the video resolution. Run a newer Guest OS like 2000 or above, install the Guest Additions and you can use fullscreen as it's intended.

Hi
it is also the reason why I am trying to use the VB: the most applications for newer windows-OS runs properly in Wine and I don't need VB for that!
but Wine don't handles properly with old win95 applications... all memory resident applications don't work at all in Wine because of the usage of the processor...
and there are thousands and thousands of old applications having no equivalent in new windows (or linux). Frank (Mehnert) it seems you are a German computer specialist. perhaps a computer specialist with knowledge on the past of the German computer world? there was a big computer dealer (Vobis, Aachen). he did sell his PC's with a big choice of programs. Vobis did sell a special program for 1 million licences. this program from the genial programmer hannes keller did have different names (because of technical evolutions). the name for the million licences was "ways" or "ways2" (win3.11 distribution). this program has
absolutely N O
equivalent about 20 years later
and can
m o r e ...
for this reason different peoples as I prefer old windows over all newer OS's.
If new systems are more a limitation as usefull, we don't need them...
bye
Note: what does Ways2? It is a completely free data base with interpretor programing language in the keyboard stream
and included dictionary comportment so it is possible to write English from German without any knowledge of English
: each word that you write in German appairs on English at writing time without more efforts! and you can create that for all purpose you can use this kind of direct translation: the reaction of the data base can be a word or it can be an amount of 4000 characters (per entry!) and as this system is also a real programing language, there is no limitation for your fantasy. probably YOUSELF are the only one limitation
of course I am using an ancient OS!Sasquatch wrote:As you are running an ancient OS in VB, you are limited to the default VGA driver that is a lot slower.
