Host only problem

So using a windows 10 host I installed ubuntu on the virtual box. I had to set up an SSh server on the virtual ubuntu and wanted to connect it to windows 10. I installed the SSh server on ubuntu and set up networking addapters, the first one as nat and the second as host only, but when I type ifconfig on ubuntu it only shows the ip adress for eth0 (10.2.0.15) and not for eth1. I'm a total newbie so please guide me step by step. Also I am using a laptop that is connected via wifi and for some reason bridged adapter also isn't working.

Probably need to send us a zipped guest log to see if you have the guest set up the way you think it is. If it is, then you'd need to ask in a Ubuntu forum how to get the second nic to appear.
Bridged does not always work with wi-fi, due to limitations in poorly-written wi-fi card drivers or possible glitches between the wi-fi card and the wireless router. Try updating your host wi-fi driver, else you'll have to skip wi-fi & go with a cable, or try a USB wi-fi adapter which you can use Virtualbox USB filters to feed directly into the guest as its own private wi-fi channel and no bridging needed.

Thanks for the reply, is there any way to connect the two machines while on wifi?' I thought using the NAT and host only adapters was the way to go. If it is, could you give me exact directions how to set them up as I think i might be doing something wrong?

"Host-only" will give you a network connection between the Windows 10 host and the Ubuntu guest that does not rely on any network capabilities of the host. The host only network defaults to a ip address of 192.168.56.### The address range can be edited by going to File menu -> Preferences -> Network, right-click the host-only adapter and edit it. The "network adapter" virtualized for the host to connect to is on the first tab, and the DHCP server and range for the guest adapters is on the second tab. Once you connect your guest's network adapter to the host-only network your guest and host should be able to communicate even if your laptop is not connected to any other network.

I got it working by setting up the DHCP, for anyone having similar problems...
