starting using virtual box now
host windows 10 pro 64 bits
guest windows 7 pro 64 bits
initially created a storage virtual size = 20 GB
dynamically allocated storage
actual size reached the virtual size
run the command to increase the virtual size to 40 GB
under virtual box manager, storage information:
type (format): normal (vdi)
virtual size: 40 GB
actual size: 21 GB
details: dynamically allocated storage
location: c:\users
attached to: windows7_64bit
downloaded MS SQL express 2014 and when try to run the install file get the following error:
There is not enough disk space on your drive for the new files to be uncompressed and installed
it appears the swap area on the disk is limiting the expansion of the actual size.

Re: drama: actual size not increasing to virtual size
Then either you didn't increase the partition size with GParted, and/or you are using snapshots.
