bridged network adapter not recognizing NIC

Here's the deal...

I am a student studying networking and server administration. I am supposed to install windows AIK on a windows 7 host and deploy a windows image to clients on a virtual network. To install things like windows AIK the Microsoft framework needs updated which needs my virtual system to access the internet through the bridged adapter. This isn't the only reason I need the internet on virtual box though.

When I select bridged adapter the virtual machine does not find my network card and there is no option to select it from within virtual box settings. I have tried moving the driver for the network card over to the virtual machine using usb 2.0 but upon trying to install the virtual machine prompts me with a message saying the machine cannot find the NIC as though there isn't one installed. To which the only answer is cancel.

If I can get virtual box online it would make my life as a student a hell of a lot easier. Everyone; tutors included hate working with this software application because it never seems to work for whatever reason. I would really appreciate any help anyone could offer and many thanks in advance. It takes me less time to complete the task at hand than to make virtual box work in order to do so. Very frustrating lol

Running a network cable from the onboard NIC isn't an option just because of location within the house.

this is the wireless adapter I am using - TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 PCIe Wireless Card - Dual Band

Can you attach your virtual machine log file please?
