Hi, I have been using vbox and ubuntu for quite a while . Now, I can't get vbox to work at all, and this is well, bad. error message I get is:

VirtualBox kernel driver not installed. The vboxdrv kernel module was either not loaded or /dev/vboxdrv was not created for some reason. Please install the virtualbox-ose-modules package for your kernel, e.g. virtualbox-ose-modules-generic..
VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED).

Result Code:
0x80004005
Component:
Console
Interface:
IConsole {1dea5c4b-0753-4193-b909-22330f64ec45}

Any ideas greatly appreciated. I installed vbox via synaptic
Thanks
Jon

I'm assuming you are running Hardy with kernel 2.6.24-19. These kernel modules are not yet in the repo. Don't blame VB/Sun/Innotek, blame Canonical (the Ubuntu devs).

Uninstalling and upgrading to VBox 1.6 fixed this issue for me. I'm running VBox on the latest kernel.
