I'm running virtualbox 1.5.6 under Hardy Heron. For my one virtual machine I have a Windows XP guest. This guest was originally running under VMWare Server 6.0, but I converted the vmdk file to a vdi file using qemu. (I know that wasn't strictly necessary, but I wanted to)
The issue I'm having is rather odd. The XP guest boots fine, and gets to the login screen, but once I am there neither the mouse or the keyboard work. I'm relatively sure this is a problem with the guest, not with virtualbox, because when I run a windows install CD or any other bootable CD, I have keyboard access just fine.
My guess is that the devices drivers for the mouse and the keyboard are configured to VMware not to Virtualbox. The only problem is that I don't know how to change them. The other issues with all of this is that I don't actually have admin access to XP guest, because it was set up by the network services guys at work. There's a possibility I could get them to tweak things for me if I could give them a step by step process though. Any thoughts?
