I have Virtualbox Version 5.0.4 r102546 that comes with the Docker Toolbox. The plist file in /Library/LaunchDaemons causes my login to hang in El Capitan. VirtualBox complains about a missing Kernel Driver when I try to start the default VM for Docker.

I've put the plist file in and taken it out several times just to make sure this is the cause of my problem and it's consistent.

I had the same problem with USB, using VB 5.0.4 with El Capitan. Now I've installed the test case 5.0.5 and all seems fine !
Can you tell me if this version (5.0.5) is considered quite stable and reliable or is to be considered just for testing ?

Seems a little late to ask now. :D
But it does seem stable so far. Most test builds are.

I installed the latest 5.0.5 which solved the USB issue.
But although my 3 FTDI based USB-to-RS232C devices are not recognised, they do not work ...
I can not send or receive data.

(Not yet finished installing El Capitan GA, so can't make any hard promises yet.)

Hi Bird,
I had the same USB problem.
Tried the test build and all usb devices (printer, scanner, labelwriter and superdrive) are now working perfect on my Win 7 ultimate.
Thanks a lot!!

I'm not asking about Docker, just that the version of Virtualbox is bundled with the Docker installation. The VM that is run is a fairly standard Ubuntu installation. I had to abandon VirtualBox and use VMFusion because the Virtualbox plist file appears to install a kext which is hanging my login. I will go and try 5.0.6

That's why I said Docker is not supported. Apparently the version of VirtualBox that is bundled with it installs kexts in the old/wrong location and causes issues with OSX 10.11. The official builds of VirtualBox have been working on OSX 10.11 long before it's release.

Good to hear VB 5.0.6 fixed it.
