Oh, I thought it was going to be something actually useful, like building VirtualBox 40% faster... boring :P

BTW, any company claiming that a new version is "50% faster" implicitly says that the previous version was written by a bunch of incompetent yahoos. That's rarely the case in reality.

Luckily for me there are pre-built versions of VirtuakBox for OSX.

As far as this…
BTW, any company claiming that a new version is "50% faster" implicitly says that the previous version was written by a bunch of incompetent yahoos.
Your statement seems to "implicitly" state nothing will ever be 50% faster. And if it is, all other versions preceding it were poorly written. Also, it implies if a car manufacturer decides to make a new car model that is 50% faster than anything they made before, i.e. from 120mph to 180mph, all their other cars were poor designs by incompetent designers.

FWIW, it's not quite working as it should…
bird wrote:TReproduce it here as well, it definitely is not quite working 100% correct yet. Things goes south when manually trying capturing a USB device at run time (Device/USB menu). Using filters (setting dialog) to capture a device when it is inserted seems to work fine

I've uploaded new testbuild which should address the USB issues:

@loukingjr would be great to know if it fixes the issues for you.

Cheers,
bird.

I'll be a monkey's uncle. Works from the devices menu. At least with a Windows 8.1 guest.

I'll check with a Linux guest.

edit: works with Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. and LMDE 2.

Good work bird. :)

I've noticed since upgrading from Yosemite to El Capitan that the full screen is working a bit different, pressing host + f now takes you to a different type of full screen mode that doesn't 'maximise' to a new workspace, and the only way to get to the old type is by pressing the green button on the corner of the window. Anyone else noticing this/have a solution?

@dukky, which version of VB are you using? My guests open to their own space when switching to fullscreen.

5.04 r102456, with an Ubuntu 14.04 guest. Like I said that's what was happening in Yosemite but currently it flashes for a second and goes full screen in the current space when I press host+f.

Well it could happen for two reasons, one, I'm actually running 10.11.1 b2 or because I'm running the test builds...

I noticed I'm getting ghost/blank workspaces that are being created but not used when full screening, so I'm guessing it's fixed in one of the two updates, I can live with pressing the green button for now I guess.

Edit: looks like someone else also has this problem, (can't post urls as I just joined, but) /viewtopic.php?f=8&t=70015

if it were me, which I am, I would try the VB test build. Another reason to try it is it fixes USB problems with OSX 10.11 as I just found out. Up to you of course.
