Host VERY sluggish after shut down of VB Guest (XPpro/F9)

Post by JoeF »

I have VB 1.6.2 running on AMD Turion64 32bit XPpro host system and Fedora 9 loaded as a Guest system on a HP Pavilion dv8100 laptop. Everything seems to run just fine on the guest but when I shut it down properly, my host computer CPU load will remain 80% or better and all host applications are very sluggish to non-responsive. I have to reboot completely to recover from this.

I've looked through the list of BUGs and do not see any off hand like this. It's almost like there's a memory leak and it's not clearing the RAM.

I have 1.5gb RAM and share 50/50 with the host.

Anyone have any ideas to solve this?
