Lock resolution 1366 x 768

Post by jriker1 »

I have a app that runs in a virtual machine for a work solution and is a Metro app. If the resolution of the virtual machine drops below 1366 x 768 it closes due to a to small screen size. Tried things like customvideomode1 but didn't work. Actually it did until I installed the VirtualBox tools and now sits at a resolution slightly below the size of the monitor which being a server KVM screen is 1024x768. Whenever I remote in can run things and it's fine because my workstation is super high res, but when I disconnect goes back to the server monitor and shrinks and app closes. I don't care if there are scrollbars but want to make sure the resolution always is 1366x768 and NEVER changes. If there is another virtual machine app that would be better for this open to that as well.

By the way using like 5.04 or something of VirtualBox. Just downloaded today.

Thanks.

There's a View menu option, Auto-resize Guest Display, which may be changing you guest screen on the server. Turn that off and you may be able to set a resolution in the guest and have it not change on your server.
